FROM THE FALL 2025 CITY SCOOP: Concrete and road work has been completed on the south side of St. Louis Road. Stutz has finished all of the concrete work and will be repaving St. Louis Road in August. After the road has been paved, they will be installing new signs, striping the road, installing new light poles, and landscaping the area. This project is expected to be completed in September. The City has received funding to continue the road reconstruction, sidewalk, and shared-use path along St. Louis from South Jefferson Avenue to Davis Place and also from Maple Street to Main Street. These phases are still three to four years out from completion.
FROM THE SPRING & SUMMER 2025 CITY SCOOP: Stutz Excavation has been making significant progress in the St. Louis Road Streetscape Project, which consists of the construction of a new public parking lot, street resurfacing, street and parking lot lighting, storm sewer replacement, landscaping and traffic calming along St. Louis Road from Maple Street to South Jefferson Avenue. Recently, Stutz has been working on reconstructing the intersection of Bond Avenue with St. Louis Road. Stutz will then complete sidewalk and curb improvements on the south side of St. Louis Road and construct a shared use path and curb improvements on the north side. Stutz will finalize the project by installing street lights, landscaping and repaving St. Louis Road and Maple Street. According to Collinsville City Manager Derek Jackson, “The improvements along St. Louis Road as part of the City of Collinsville’s Great Streets initiative will transform the corridor into a safer, more accessible and vibrant space for our residents and visitors. The addition of a new public parking lot will make it easier for people to visit local businesses, while traffic calming measures will create a pedestrian- and bike-friendly atmosphere, ensuring that St. Louis Road is a place where people want to gather, shop and explore.” The City is pleased to report that Stutz Excavation is keeping to their proposed schedule and is on track to have the project completed by the end of June 2025.
