FROM THE FALL 2025 CITY SCOOP: Bids were opened for the Horseshoe Lake Road Project on July 29th, 2025, with Stutz as the low bidder. Construction is expected to begin in September of 2025. This project includes widening Horseshoe Lake Road to have a travel lane in each direction with a center turn lane from Eastport Plaza Drive to McDonough Lake Road, reconstruction of the intersection of Horseshoe Lake Road and McDonough Lake Road, and reconstruction of McDonough Lake Road to an asphalt road from Horseshoe Lake Road approximately 2,000 feet northward to the southern edge of the new Dayton Freight development. This project is expected to be substantially complete in December 2025 with finishing work to be completed in the Spring of 2026.
