THE COLLINSVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT IS SPONSORING AND HOSTING ITS 8TH SESSION OF THE COLLINSVILLE YOUTH ACADEMY IN JUNE 2026!

WHAT IS THE POLICE YOUTH ACADEMY? The CPD's Youth Academy will feature presentations from current law enforcement personnel, health services and local business professionals. Blocks of instruction related to law enforcement, drug awareness, dangers of vaping and cyber safety will be covered and discussed during the Academy. At the gun range, gun safety and handling will be discussed as well as a live weapons demonstration where you will be able to shoot at practice targets. There will also be a Physical Training (PT) portion included in the Academy that is aimed toward educating the attendees of the importance of exercise and diet. The Academy will also be conducting one community service project in Collinsville to help show the importance of giving back to the community.

2026 ACADEMY DATES: This is a two-week Academy, weekdays only, from June 1st-June 5th AND from June 8th-June 12th. The Academy is held from 8:00am to 3:00pm. A Graduation Ceremony will be held for graduates on the evening of Friday, June 12th.

WHO CAN ATTEND? We're looking for students ranging in ages from 13-17 years old to attend. Priority is given to CUSD #10 students and private school students in the Unit #10 District.

HOW DO I APPLY? Online Applications/Payment will be available via a link on this webpage starting on Wednesday, April 1st. Applications close on Wednesday, May 13th or once 25 students have been accepted into the program (whichever happens first).

HOW MUCH DOES THE ACADEMY COST TO ATTEND? Registration is $75 per participant. PLEASE NOTE: A separate registration must be completed for each participant.


Participation Permit Application/Promise To Release

In consideration of the benefits that I will receive from my participation in the Collinsville Police Department Youth Police Academy, I do hereby release the City of Collinsville, its police officers, public officials, agents and employees from any liability, claims, demands, actions and causes of actions which I may hereafter have on account of any and all injuries or damages to me or to my property, or my death, arising out of or related to any happening or occurrence while I am participating in the academy class. For the same consideration, I also agree to forever hold the city of Collinsville and said persons harmless from any and all such liabilities, claims, demands, actions or causes of actions. The terms thereof shall be in full force and effect during the period of my participation in the Collinsville Police Department Police Youth Academy. As an attendee, you will authorize the City of Collinsville to record and edit into programs, bulletins, series and/or segments and related materials, my name, likeness, image, voice and performance for social media outlets and website.

The City of Collinsville may use and authorize others to use all parts of the program, including the recordings, for any purpose and dispose of without limitation. This authorization is without date, restriction or compensation.
