BELTLINE ROAD UPDATE FROM Illinois Department of Transportation DATED 1/21/2026:
 
"The Illinois Department of Transportation today announced the project on Beltline Road between Johnson Hill Road and Kingsbury Court will switch to Stage 2. Beginning Thursday, January 22, 2026, the contractor will switch the 2-way traffic on Beltline Road from the two westbound lanes over to the two eastbound lanes. There will also be no direct access to Carnation Drive from Beltline Road during this stage of the project. A detour using Keebler Avenue and Johann Drive will be established for access to Carnation Drive. These lane restrictions are necessary to continue progress for slope repairs on Beltline Road. This work is expected to continue through March 2026.
 
Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
