Library
The Collinsville Memorial Public Library Center is located at 408 West
Main Street. Library Hours are Monday thru Thursday 9 a.m.- 8 p.m.,
Friday and Saturday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Sunday 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. A
library card is free to anyone living or owning property within the city
limits of Collinsville. The non-resident fee is based on the taxable
value of their property tax statement with a minimum cost of $30 per
year. The Library is a member of the Mississippi Valley Library District
which provides service for over hundreds of libraries in Illinois

Newspapers
The Belleville News-Democrat (618-397-6615) and the St. Louis
Post-Dispatch (618-235-7100) are published daily and are available by
subscription. The Suburban Journal is published twice a week and is
delivered to residences free of charge. The Riverfront Times, a weekly
entertainment guide, is available at a variety of stores and restaurants
free of charge.
Police Department
The City of Collinsville operates a 36 officer Police Department to
protect and serve the residents and visitors of the City. The services
provided by the Department include general assistance, criminal
complaints, traffic enforcement, investigation, crime scene processing,
dispatching, and animal control. The Department also operates the DARE

Shuttle Bus
The City of Collinsville provides a free shuttle bus service to senior
citizens (60 years and older) and the disabled. The bus runs within the

Trash Collection
The City of Collinsville contracts with Allied Waste, a private trash
hauler, to operate in the city limits. The service can be established at
the same time as water and sewer service and is billed with these other
services on a bi-monthly cycle by the City of Collinsville. Recycling
services are also included. Yard waste pickup is available on a weekly
basis. Residents who desire yard waste pickup must contract directly

Water and Sewer Service
The City of Collinsville provides water and sewer service for its
residents. For properties within the City limits, a $75 deposit and $10
service charge is required for homeowners and a $125 deposit and $10
service charge is required for renters. For properties outside the City
limits but serviced by Collinsville water, a $115 deposit and $10
service charge is required for homeowners and a $165 and $10 service
charge is required for renters. Billing is on a bi-monthly cycle.
