The City of Collinsville has a variety of facilities to suit almost every recreational need or interest. The facilities include: Gateway Convention Center, 13 motels/hotels with over 1,300 rooms, 25 churches, Collinsville Memorial Public Library, senior citizen center, country club, parks, tennis courts, bowling alley, health clubs, sports complex, Fairmount Park Racetrack, Gateway Fun Park, TeePee Teen Center, Cahokia Mounds World Heritage Site, Collinsville YMCA, Splash City Family Water Park, Willoughby Heritage Farm and Conservation Reserve, Collinsville Area Recreation District, and 2 golf courses. Collinsville also boasts several fine restaurants and a booming nightlife.

Collinsville's unique location in the St. Louis metro area makes accessibility to a wide variety of cultural, recreational, and educational facilities only minutes away. The new Busch Stadium, Powell Symphony Hall, Edward Jones Dome, Savvis Center, St. Louis Science Center, St. Louis Art Museum, Laclede's Landing, Fox Theater, the St. Louis Zoo, the Gateway Arch and many fine restaurants are all excellent examples of the outstanding facilities that this area has to offer.

Sports Programs

Collinsville YMCA / Collinsville Area Recreation District, little league baseball, pee wee football, tee ball, softball leagues, soccer leagues, basketball, wrestling, and co-ed volleyball.

Points of Interest

Cahokia Mounds: Cahokia Mounds State Historic and World Heritage site is located on Collinsville Road (Highway 40). It features 65 manmade earthen mounds, including 100 ft. Monks Mound, wooden calendar and a 33,000 foot modern interpretive center.

Fairmount Park: Fairmount Park is located on Collinsville Road (Highway 40). Pari-mutual wagering on thoroughbred and harness (they haven’t had harness racing in three years) racing is offered year round (no longer offered year round), along with simulcast wagering on major stake races across the country.

Brooks Catsup Bottle: The "World's Largest Catsup Bottle" is located on Highway 159. The now empty steel water tank and tower measure 170 feet. The landmark, representing "Roadside Architecture at its Best," was constructed in 1949 and was restored in the Spring of 1995.

Collinsville Area Recreation District (CARD):
Residents of Collinsville have a variety of opportunities for recreation. The Collinsville Area Recreation District maintains a number of parks and facilities encompassing over 400 acres of land. These include 14 softball/baseball fields, 11 playground areas, six outdoor tennis courts, six picnic pavilions, five soccer fields, a football field, an outdoor walking/jogging track and three lakes. The park District's administrative offices are located at 10 Gateway Drive, Collinsville, IL 62234.

CARD manages Splash City Family Waterpark and Arlington Greens Golf Course.
Splash City opened in 1998 and includes water attractions for the whole family like Monsoon Mountain, the FlowRider, a lazy river, two 150-foot-long water slides, kiddy pools, grass tanning areas, lawn chairs, concessions and a lap pool. Visit www.SplashCity.com for more information.

Arlington Greens Golf Course in Granite City is a premiere 18 hole, 72 par public course. The pristine grounds include a Club House with bar and lounge area and a Banquet Facility with seating for over 100. Tournaments and outings are held on weekdays.
