2019 Youth Police Academy


The Collinsville Police Department is sponsoring and hosting its 2nd session of the Collinsville Police Youth Academy.

We're looking for students ranging in ages from 13 - 16 years old to attend.

The youth academy will last two week starting  Monday July 8th thru Friday July 19th from 8 am to 3:30 pm. (weekdays only)

Our academy will feature presentations from current law enforcement personnel, Health Services, and local business professionals.

Blocks of instruction related to law enforcement, drug awareness, dangers of vaping, money management skills, and cyber safety will be covered and discussed during the academy.


At a gun range, Gun Safety and handling will be discussed as well as a live weapons demonstration where you will be able to shoot some practice targets.


There will also be a Physical Training portion included in the academy that is aimed towards educating the attendees of the importance of exercise and diet.


Two team building trips are planned at Big Muddy adventures and Lake Williamson.


The academy will also be conducting one community service project in Collinsville to help show the importance of giving back to the community.

The cost for the academy is $75

Application deadline is Friday June 14th - the academy is limited to 30 students.

Once you have been accepted, you will receive instructions to enroll and pay for Academy online.


Participation Permit Application/Promise To Release

In consideration of the benefits that I will receive from my participation in the Collinsville Police Department Youth Police Academy, I do hereby release the City of Collinsville, its police officers, public officials, agents and employees from any liability, claims, demands, actions and causes of actions which I may hereafter have on account of any and all injuries or damages to me or to my property, or my death, arising out of or related to any happening or occurrence while I am participating in the academy class. For the same consideration, I also agree to forever hold the city of Collinsville and said persons harmless from any and all such liabilities, claims, demands, actions or causes of actions. The terms thereof shall be in full force and effect during the period of my participation in the Collinsville Police Department Police Youth Academy.  As an attendee,  you will authorize CCTV, City of Collinsville Television, to record and edit into programs, bulletins, series and/or segments and related materials, my name, likeness, image, voice and performance for social media outlets and CCTV.

The City of Collinsville, CCTV and the Cable Access Coordinator may use and authorize others to use all parts of the program, including the recordings, for any purpose and dispose of without limitation as CCTV and the Cable Access Coordinator shall, in their sole discretion, determine.This authorization is without date, restriction or compensation.
